read avtar bani Avtar Bani

The Avtar Bani outlines the key philosophy of the Sant Nirankari Mission. It may in fact be considered the Bible or Quran of the Mission. It is named after its author Shahenshan Baba Avtar Singh. Its initial version was first published in 1957. Its “Big Brother”, the 'Sampuran Avtar Bani ' (meaning - the complete Avtar Bani) was published in 1965. The Avtar Bani was originally written in easy Punjabi verse, but some stanzas were in the Urdu and Sindhi Language. It contains 376 hymns which describe the qualities of Formless God (Nirankar), the important role of a True Spiritual Guide in attaining God realisation, the kindness and grace of the True Master, the purpose of human life, the five fundamental principles, true devotion and how a man can lead a saintly life. The Avtar Bani is not worshipped as a holy religious book like the Quran or the Bible, but it is highly regarded by the Nirankari devotees for its authenticity. It has been published in Gurumukhi, Devnagari, Urdu and Roman scripts. It has also been translated and published in English (verse and prose), Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil, Telgu, Nepali and Marathi verse. The full online versions of the Avtar Bani may be accessed through the main Nirankari Website, via the Literature and the E-books links.

Sant Nirankari Bal Samagam – Chennai

With the grace of His Holiness Satguru Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, a Bal Samagam was conducted in Chennai on 10th October, 2010. The basic motive behind this event was to encourage the little foundations of our mission to become even more stronger and to always stay attached with the mission. All the kids under 14 years of age took part in the various activities of the event.
The event started at about 8 a.m with the registrations of all the children. To the start the event and to create more involvement of the kids, physical activities like games, warm-ups and various such activities were held. A gathering of over 150 in the early stage had assembled to be a part of the event. Games like Sack Race, Lemon Spoon and Three Legged Race were conducted each with a moral to teach and relate to the teachings of the mission. The outdoor event concluded at about 9 a.m followed by a few more indoor events.
All children were split in groups and a quiz was held with questions focusing on the Missions history, ideology and its principles. To everyone’s surprise even an 8 year old was able to describe our missions ideology and speak about the missions history on topics like when the mission was started, major events of the mission and important dates and days celebrated even today. In the meanwhile a drawing competition called the “Little Fingers” was being conducted for children under 8 years, where all the children were given an opportunity to portray the imaginations on a blank canvas. A few drew landscapes and a few drew their favorite cartoon character but a few also portrayed a few pictures on the teachings of our mission. The youth of the mission was informed one week prior about another competition called “The Master Works” where they could also use their imaginations to make a few paintings on the topic “Peace not Pieces” which was done during the week and displayed on a large board outside the Satsang hall for everyone to see and take inspiration from. Once this was done the children between the age of 8 to 14 were asked to write a test on a few pre-decided Avtar Bani Shabads. The pattern of the test was to fill the blank spaces between the Shabads with the correct word as mentioned in the Avtar Bani out of which about 6 of the children answered every question and scored the maximum marks. The Indoor event concluded by 10 a.m after which the Sangat had started. Presiding over the stage were Rev. Shyamsunder Keswani Ji, the Pramukh of Chennai.
During the Sangat various little children under the age of 8 presented did Simran, sang Geets and shared their views in short span of time. The Satsang programme also had a few plays in different languages with meaningful morels to pass on the message of the mission. A play in Tamil was focused upon our. The moral of the play was that we are not to ask anything from God as He knows what is required for us and give us what we deserve at the right time. A hindi play called “The 99 Club” passed on a message stating that even if God gives us everything we need, we would still crave for more and would apply irrelevant logics to make ourself unhappy. A dance was performed by small girls on a Geet thanking His Holiness to have given us this Gyan and making us happy. We had another dance performance by small boys on a very touching song which made every1 think as to where they came from and who they are and who is taking care of them. Almost everyone present in the Sangat was in deep thoughts hearing the song.   At the end all the kids came together and sang a devotional song thanking His Holiness for what ever they have got in their life and requesting Him to keep them in His Holy feet for ever.
The Holy Vichar by Rev. Shyamsunder Ji was mainly focused on how children should improvise on their daily life enlightening them on a few basics of life and motivating them to always follow the path that His Holiness expects us to follow.  All children received a lot of appreciation from the stage and were all blessed with awards and gifts as further motivation.

139 couples tie knot in mass wedding organized by Nirankari Sant Samagam

139 couples tie knot in mass wedding organized by Nirankari Sant Samagam

While most of the couples belonged from Mumbai, some brides and bridegrooms came from UP, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat.
Times of India

MUMBAI: On Monday, a mass wedding function was held at the venue of the 46th annual Nirankari Sant Samagam in Airoli, where 139 couples tied their nuptial knot in the presence of his holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, his holy mother Rajmata Kulwant Kaur Ji and his gracious spouse Pujya Mata Sawinder Ji. Besides the parents, relatives and friends of the brides and bridegrooms, thousands of devotees of the mission were also present.

While most of the couples belonged from Mumbai and other parts of Maharashtra, some brides and bridegrooms came from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat.

Even though the caste does not figure in Nirankari Marriages, a Hindu girl married a Muslim boy while another Hindu boy tied knot with a Christian girl.

The ceremony began with the traditional Jaymala, followed by Nirankari Lavan. Each couple was given a common garland — a special feature of a Nirankari wedding.

The holy trinity and other saints showered the flowers while saint artists sang Lavan with music.

The ceremony was marked by maximum austerity as the newly-wed couples along with their families, friends and relatives ate lunch at the community kitchen (Langar) provided by the Sant Nirankari Mandal.

Blessing the newly-weds, his holiness appreciated the couples and their families for opting this simple mass wedding ceremony.

Baba Ji said "Every social relation based on the teachings of the saints is bound to grow stronger and stronger. As a matter of fact, most of the families who opt for this simple ceremony are spiritually enlightened and attend holy congregations. It is here that they learn human values of love, humility, cooperation and tolerance." He called upon the newly-weds to seek the company of saints regularly.

Humanity is the true religion of man and all spiritual masters have preached it since ages. Just as sugar is known from its sweetness and salt from its saltiness, a human being is known from humanity. This was stated here by his holiness Baba Hardev Singh Ji Maharaj, head of the Sant Nirankari Mission while addressing a mammoth congregation of the devotees of the Mission on the third day of the 46th Annual Nirankari Sant Samagam of Maharashtra in Navi Mumbai late Sunday evening.

The three-day Samagam is being attended by lakhs of followers of the mission and other God-loving people from all over Maharashtra and several other parts of the country and abroad.

Baba Ji said that whether we call the teachings of Lord Christ, Hazarat Mohammad, Guru Nanak or the any other spiritual master that of God, they all preached the lesson of humanity as the man's true religion.

His holiness further said that "It is unfortunate that man has remained ignorant about the true meaning of religion and identified the same with all kinds of rituals. That is why he is unable to behave like man. People are fighting against each other and we find hatred, jealousy, selfishness, narrow-mindedness and violence prevailing across the world."

His holiness emphasized that devotion to God can be followed by every individual while performing his responsibilities towards self, the family, society, nation and humanity as such.

Earlier, Shri S.S. Tiwari, coordinator of the Samagam Committee thanked his holiness for the success of the 3-day Samagam. He said that everything could be accomplished in time only due to his grace. He thanked all the government agencies and other organizations for their willing and wholehearted cooperation. He also thanked fthe devotees of the Mission who came in such a large number to participate in the Samagam.

Shri VD Nagpal, general secretary of the Sant Nirankari Mission from Delhi also thanked the devotees for their discipline and the spirit of devotion and cooperation which made the Samagam a success.
